My grandfather had several of those but not as fancy. He used to wear them when I was a boy.

—Jacob Ahwinona, 2001

This pair of Norton Sound snow goggles is made from mountain sheep hooves that were softened in hot water, bent and cut into shape, and strung together with trade beads. Snow goggles were highly individual in style and made from many different materials.
