Carving knife
The Chukchi, Koryak, Yukaghir, and Siberian Yupik peoples all used the “crooked knife” for carving wood. This knife has a thin, slightly curved steel blade pegged to a walrus ivory handle. The circle-dot designs are an ancient decorative motif in the Bering Strait region, going back about 1000 years.
