Unangax refugees aboard a niĝalaĝ (open skin boat) in southeast Alaska, 1942. Almost 900 residents of Akutan, Atka, Umnak, St. George, and St. Paul islands were removed to Funter Bay, Killisnoo, and other internment camps in the southern Alaskan panhandle, where about ten percent died.
