David Boxley

David Boxley

David Boxley was born in 1952 in Metlakatla. He is an educator and demonstrator, as well as an artist and dancer. He is a world renowned wood carver, and his works have been widely exhibited. He has founded and danced in four dance troupes, currently leading the group called Git-Hoan (people of the Salmon). Mr. Boxley has been a driving force behind the revitalization of Tsimshian culture, for example being responsible for the first Seattle Northwest Coast Potlatch in 100 years.
