Teri Rofkar

Teri Rofkar (Chaas’ Koowu Tlaa) was born in 1956 and resides in Sitka. She is a Yéil (Raven) of T’akdeintaan. She is a world-renowned basket and Raven’s tail weaver, culture bearer, demonstrator and instructor. She has been Artist-in-Residence at the Alaska Native Heritage Center and the Peabody Essex Museum and received multiple awards. Her work has been exhibited widely, including a solo exhibit at the Anchorage Museum of Art and History. She consults, together with her sister, Shelly Laws at museums and researches their collection.
