Andrew Abyo

Andrew Abyo was born in Anchorage, raised in Pilot Point, and currently lives in Anchorage. He is a wood carver who specializes in making Sugpiaq bentwood visors, atlatls, harpoons, full size paddles, traditional games and baidarka carvings and his work can be found in numerous collections. He also spreads his knowledge by demonstrating his craft in the Anchorage School District and at the Alaska Native Heritage Center. He is also a drummer in the dance group, Imamsuat.
